3 Years Before Securing $12,000,000 Raiders Deal, 'Once Homeless' Josh Jacobs Dropped the Moolah on a Stillwater Mansion

Mere weeks after the RB debate, the Raiders have finally offered Josh Jacobs a one-year $12,000,000 contract, putting him ahead of Saquon Barkley by a million. As it turns out, in 2020, around 3 years before inking this deal, Jacobs made his father tear up with one of the most beautiful gifts in the form of a house. It was a very emotional moment for the father and son, since the family had lived through some very tough times in the past.

Jacobs, who was a 24th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, signed a four-year rookie contract worth $11.933 million with the Raiders in 2019. After signing the contract, the RB, who grew up sleeping in his father’s car roaming in the streets of Tulsa, Oklahoma, gifted his father a beautiful house in Stillwater. Jacobs captured the precious moment which went viral on the internet as it was the most heartwarming event of his life.

Josh Jacobs Once Gifted His Father an Amazing House

In January 2020, on a Tuesday afternoon, Jacobs made his fans emotional after tweeting about his heartwarming gift to his dad. Jacobs had bought his father a house in Stillwater Oklahoma which was a massive gesture, since he grew up homeless with lack of basic amenities.

It was certainly an emotional moment for his entire family. “Your eyes are red,” Jacobs said to his father in the clip shared by the Raiders. “Why are you trying not to cry, dude? You already crying.” In the clip recorded by the NFL RB, Jacobs tried to capture his father’s reaction to his heartwarming gift which he bought from his rookie contract.

With this, Jacobs had completed his longstanding promise to his father to buy him a house after years of living homeless together. At the end of the clip, the Raiders RB mentioned, “I’m real life blessed. I’ve spoken everything I was going to do into existence.”

The Early Life Struggles of Jacobs and His Family

Josh Jacobs never had it easy in life. His family was homeless when he was in middle school. His father made tremendous efforts to provide for his family and when Jacobs started his football journey in high school, he had one goal in his mind which was to make his father proud and never let his family face the tough times again.

Jacobs’ incredible football talent helped him secure a spot at the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he displayed his balling skills to the point that he went on to get drafted into the NFL in the first round in 2019. His story has inspired many and will continue to do so for years to come.
