Smith, who signed a lucrative $105 million extension earlier this year, won the hearts of Seattle natives by organizing a turkey giveaway drive in 2022. Along with delivering impeccable on-field performances, Smith’s philanthropic acts like these have made him a true fan favorite.
Seahawks QB Brings Joy on Thanksgiving
Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith believes in giving back to the community. His generosity knows no bounds. In a sweet and simple gesture back in November 2022, he joined hands with Trey Lamont, the owner of Seattle’s Jerk Shack. Together, they provided Thanksgiving meals to families in need in Seattle. Lamont, who is based out of Florida, brought his philanthropy to Miami in 2022.
Talking to King 5 about Geno and his work, Lamont had said, “Our new quarterback, Geno, he’s been doing an amazing job and we want to make sure that Seattleites show him love, because he’s definitely showing us some love because he’s bringing back a winning culture back to Seattle. It’s definitely giving back to the community and, you know, since I’m in the food industry, I know how hard it is to actually get a turkey this year.”
Kristen Stubbs, who was Smith’s personal assistant at that time, had said, “This is our first time doing the turkey event in Seattle. He’s done some prior for the past like 10 years in Miami, so bringing it here to the 12s now.” Smith has shown that he not only brings victories on game days but also the spirit of philanthropy to the city.
