It is not a surprise anymore when it is revealed that NFL players have had a father or an elder brother playing professionally. However, it is definitely a surprise for many when they get to know that a legend in the sport is not a standalone feature in the family. This is exactly the case with 4x MVP Aaron Rodgers, whose father apparently was a football player himself, a long time ago.

The Super Bowl winner started his football journey back when he was just 2 years old. Though he wasn’t exactly throwing massive passes back then, his interest in the game was very clear. All thanks to watching his father’s career as a rather established college player. In fact, the now Sports Injury Specialist almost became a pro in his own rights.
Aaron Rodgers developed his love for football through his father
Edward Wesley Rodgers passed on his love for the game to his three children, Luke, Aaron, and Jordan. Of the three, it seems Aaron made the most progress, becoming one of the most well-known athletes in America. Edward, on the other hand, managed to bag two back-to-back National Championships while playing for the Chico State Wildcats.

Apparently, Edward was very interested in going pro. He even played for a Californian semi-professional team and attempted to join the Canadian Football League. Things did not go as planned, though, and he had to give up on his professional dreams. However, he did stick with the sport, choosing instead to become an Injury Specialist and Chiropractor.
Rodgers has definitely helped bring his family name to the forefront
While Aaron Rodgers had a tough start to his college career, he started gaining traction once he transferred to the University of California in Berkeley. From then, it has been a fairytale for the Rodgers family, with Aaron bringing home a Super Bowl ring, something not many people can boast about. Not that Rodgers is the boasting type. Especially now, that he has a whole new path in front of him.
Rodgers, after playing in Green Bay for the entirety of his professional career, is finally wearing a different uniform this season. The New York Jets, who have been desperate for an experienced QB, have finally got their hands on one of the best there is in the league right now. The obvious question is, will Rodgers find the success he wants with the Jets? Or is this move just another step to retiring from the sport?
