Some of the greatest minds in football are coaching right now, and so McVay was put on the spot when he was asked this question. Peter Schrager popped the question to the Rams head coach on the The Ringer’s “Flying Coach” podcast which they host together.

Sean McVay Lists All Time Coaches He Would Hang Out With Including Bill Belichick
The first person McVay named was none other than Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Belichick is widely seen as the best NFL coach in history, and so it was no surprise that McVay put him up there.
However, the two also have a personal relationship in their limited interactions, and this was something McVay noted on the podcast too.
“I’ll tell you what, this is one of the things that in the short amount of time that I’ve gotten the chance to do this, Coach Belichick couldn’t have been better to me. I’m telling you. Fun, engaging, he’s been great in the limited interactions that we’ve had.”
McVay also had to considering picking his best friend (aka Packers head coach Matt LaFleur) too. However, this wasn’t an easy decision for McVay either as he pulls up several other coaches he’d also like to meet including Kliff Kingsbury.
“Matt LaFleur is one of my best friends. So I’m gonna say you’d love to be able to go with Matt, but Kingsbury’s close by.”
McVay even brought long tenured Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and his very own defensive coordinator Raheem Morris.
“I got a defensive coordinator in Raheem Morris who’s about as much fun to be around as anybody. We all know how dynamic Mike Tomlin is. We’ve got a lot of potential options. You can’t go wrong, Peter.”
You can’t go wrong indeed. All these great minds are definitely people any NFL head coach would love to meet, and McVay is no exception. McVay is also one of the smartest head coaches in the NFL. His Rams have been major playoff contenders for years now, and with Matt Stafford joining the fold this year, they’re also pegged as Super Bowl contenders once more.
