Deshaun Watson vs Baker Mayfield: ‘Karma Strikes’ As $230 Million Browns QB Struggles In His Opener While Rams Hero Delivers Within 48 Hours Of Joining
Deshaun Watson has been making the headlines on a regular basis for quite some time now. However, most of the times, the headlines have been about the s*xual harassment cases that were levied upon him by a plethora of women.
One after the other, the number of women who came out and spoke against Deshaun kept increasing which prompted the NFL to take action into the matter.
An 11-game suspension and a $5 Million fine, that’s all the league deemed fit as a punishment for Deshaun. As expected, fans weren’t pleased with this decision as the ban didn’t really change much for the QB and as far as the $5 Million fine is concerned, it is nothing more than pennies for someone who signed a $230 Million guaranteed contract.
All eyes were on Deshaun as he made his way back into the competition against his former franchise, the Houston Texans. However, it turned out to be a forgettable outing for Watson as he ended up scoring zero touchdowns, threw 1 interception, and had a 53.4 passer rating.

Will Deshaun Watson Bounce Back After Ordinary Start To The Season?
However, there is one more quarterback who has been struggling for quite some time but got to feature recently for a new franchise and completely changed his fortunes in just one game.
Yes, we are talking about Baker Mayfield, the same quarterback who was thrown out of by the Cleveland Browns, the same quarterback who was benched and then released by the Carolina Panthers mid-season.
As Matthew Stafford is injured, the Rams claimed Baker off the waivers and gave him a chance to start within 48 hours after his joining. Defying all expectations, Baker scripted one of the most incredible come from behind victories in recent times against the Raiders.
With 230 passing yards, 1 touchdown and 91.4 passer rating, Mayfield snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as the Raiders failed to contain him after gaining a 13 point lead.
Deshaun Watson with a year to prepare to play for his new team:

Baker Mayfield with less than 2 days to prepare to play for his new team:

As expected, several fans ended up comparing the two quarterbacks after their opening games for their new respective franchises. Some even called it ‘Karma’ but quickly, a lot of Browns fans joined the conversation to add that by the end of the season, Deshaun will finish with way better numbers than Baker Mayfield.
I bet you personally @CAlmanza1007 $1,000 Deshaun Watson finishes with a higher QBR, more passing yards, more TD’s and more wins than Baker over the next 5 games. This game being Baker’s first of the 5.

It will be interesting to see how the two quarterbacks perform going further into the season.
