The Kansas City Chiefs have decided to make this year’s NFL draft a hometown trifecta. The home team, also the Super Bowl champions, in front of the home fans, have decided to pick a hometown hero to join their roster. With the #31 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Chiefs picked Kansas State’s defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah. His name, though, sparks interest for another reason: a potential relative in the NFL.

Anudike-Uzomah had a massive season in his senior year, recording 8 sacks and a total of 46 pressures. Given his agility and his speed, he will make an interesting addition to the Chiefs’ defensive lineup, which places a heavy focus on blitz plays. What’s more, he will be playing alongside the defending Super Bowl champs, who could very well go on to successfully defend their title this year.
Does Felix Anudike-Uzomah have a brother in the NFL?
While having siblings play professionally is slowly becoming common, it is still a fresh surprise whenever that happens. This is why when Felix Anudike-Uzomah was picked by the Chiefs, many instantly thought of the former Bengals’ tight end C.J. Uzomah. However, the current Jets player does not seem to have any tangible relation with Felix, apart from sharing their last names of course.
Though he did not participate in any workouts during the Combine and his Pro day, it seems he made an impact on scouts with his game performances. At least, he has head coach Andy Reid convinced of his abilities, who says, “Felix is a heck of a player. When you’re picking right there at 31, you take the best player available. He was that guy.”
While C.J. is living his life in New York, Felix has to make one for himself here in Kansas City. Though it might not be very difficult, it will be very competitive. Especially when you have the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce almost certainly guaranteeing the team a playoff spot. In this highly competitive roster, will Felix make it to the top?
