Baker Mayfield, what a man, what a story. When the Heisman trophy winner started his stint at the highest level, everyone was expecting him to just thrash his opponents for fun.

Expectations were high, he was being paid the big bucks, he was already making millions through ad deals and he did actually start off well at the highest level.

Everything was going well until everything fell apart for Baker. The Cleveland Browns, the franchise which put a lot of trust in young Baker at a time lost complete faith in him after the 2021 season.

As a result, he was traded to the Carolina Panthers ahead of the 2022 season. As many experts had opined, Mayfield failed to leave any impact for his new franchise and was soon benched.

All the doors were starting to close down for Baker and NFL fans were worried about his future in the competition. However, the man has succeeded in finally turning things around for himself.

“Head-Butter” Baker Mayfield Is Back & Fans Are Loving It This Time

Baker was claimed off the waivers by last season’s Super Bowl champions, the Los Angeles Rams. As Matthew Stafford is out with a serious injury, Mayfield was asked to start within 48 hours after officially joining the franchise.

Absolutely no one had any hopes from Baker as he led the Rams’ offense against the Raiders on TNF. Moreover, his unit started off quite poorly and several Rams fans would have even shut their idiot boxes down after three quarters, that’s how bad things were looking for them.

Going into the final quarter, the Raiders had a 10 point lead which quickly extended to 13 as the 4th quarter started. However, Mayfield, who was poor as usual until the final few minutes, decided to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Scripting one of the biggest comebacks this season, Mayfield lead a 98-yard touchdown drive to guide his team to a 1-point win in the final minutes. As expected, NFL fans went berserk as no one was expecting Mayfield to work his magic like this.

Moreover, after the win, Mayfield was again seen head butting his teammates without wearing a helmet. However, this time around, there weren’t many complaints against Baker for his head-butting action, simply because he had guided his unit to a miraculous victory.
