“Inconsistent Dak Prescott Will Probably Fail” : Shannon Sharpe Annoys Skip Bayless by Claiming That the Cowboys QB Will Not Deliver Against 49ers

Dak Prescott and Shannon Sharpe

NFL analyst Shannon Sharpe has a thing against Dallas Cowboys. In fact, he makes sure he takes them down a notch every chance he gets. His vocal criticism of the Dallas outfit is at par with that of another Cowboys hater: Stephen A. Smith. So much so, that even the extraordinary performance put up by Dak Prescott against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, did nothing to impress him.

The Cowboys beat the Buccaneers 31-14 on Monday night, a victory that Cowboys fans are celebrating even now. However, with their next game set against the San Francisco 49ers, the road is tougher than it was last week. What’s more, Sharpe has zero confidence that the Cowboys’ offense will be able to pull off the same level of play that they had against the Buccaneers.

He is especially critical of Prescott, who he thinks is inconsistent with his performance. On his show ‘Undisputed’, he tells Skip Bayless, “I’ve seen enough and know who Dak is, he’s a rollercoaster. I don’t expect to see what he did in Tampa on Monday”. For Sharpe, Prescott’s big night against Tampa Bay is not enough to erase over 7 years’ worth of inconsistency records.

Dak Prescott fails to impress Shannon Sharpe with a win over Tom Brady

Monday night’s win was the first for the Cowboys against Tom Brady in 8 meetings, a record they’ll be happy to break. Although the win is a crucial one, it cannot be taken as a proper valuation of the Cowboys’ offensive and defensive capabilities. A weak Buccaneers was touted to lose from the day this matchup was confirmed. The massacre that followed should be no surprise.

As much as many may say the win doesn’t count in the grand scheme of things, their performance on the night was exemplary. It was truly delightful to watch their offense in action, bar the PAT misses from Brett Maher. All in all, the Cowboys look ready to face probably the biggest challenge for them this season.

The 49ers are on a massive roll this season. Though they were unable to clinch the no. 1 seed in NFC, they have established themselves as one of the favorites to feature in the Super Bowl. For them, there is another big reason to beat the Cowboys. To attract the attention of someone they hope will join them next season: Bucs’ QB Tom Brady.

With Brady’s contract with Tampa Bay ending this season, the 49ers will want to use this game as a means to show him their offensive strengths. After all, what better way to court someone’s attention than by beating the team that ended your Super Bowl dreams? Only time will tell the larger consequences of this game.
