This is huge news for the NFL world as Jones was the latest subject of trade talks. Finally, it looks like we have some clarity on the situation. With Jones saying he’s out of Atlanta, clearly there’s no option left for the Falcons but to trade him.
Where Could Julio Jones Be Traded To? Which NFL Team Will Trade For Jones?
Jones is a top three receiver in the league when healthy. Yes, he’s up there in age now, and his contract is hefty, but there’s no doubt about his talent levels.
He will immediately elevate a team’s ceiling with the type of production he’s known to bring, and it’s only a matter of which team is willing to sell out the chips to get him.
Of course, one team that instantly comes to mind are the New England Patriots. The Pats are back with a heavily reshaped offense that features many more dynamic weapons this year than last, and there’s a good chance they could be in the market for yet another superstar.
Additionally, Baltimore is still desperate at the receiver position. Despite adding Bateman in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Ravens are still hungry for that star-caliber receiver who would put their passing game above the top. They’re also a known winner, something Jones wants for whichever team trades for him.
The San Francisco 49ers could also be in the market. Trey Lance is set to take over at some point, and his transition to the NFL could be made a lot smoother if he’s given an opportunity to work with a receiver like Jones. The Los Angeles Chargers make sense for the same reason as they’re set to gear up for a playoff run in Justin Herbert’s second season.
