Influenced by Their Mothers, $163 Million Jayson Tatum & NFL’s Alvin Kamara, Haven’t Spend a Single Dime From Their Lucrative Salaries
Jayson Tatum has quickly established himself as a superstar in the NBA world. The Celtics’ small forward/power forward has had a wonderful 2022-23 season. The 2016 Gatorade National Player of The Year came into the NBA with a reputation and he sure hasn’t disappointed the ones who vouched for his success. As it turns out, along with being an incredible athlete, he is a super intelligent and sensible human being who understands the value of money he makes and refrains from spending lavishly, despite having a $163 Million contract.
Innumerable athletes through the years, who earned Millions by playing on the highest level, ended up going bankrupt due to poor financial management and unnecessary purchases. Tatum, all thanks to his mother, is most probably not going to feature on that unfortunate list. As it turns out, the NFL also has one such star who hasn’t spend a single dime from his lucrative $75 Million deal after getting influenced by his mom. Yes, we are referring to Saints star Alvin Kamara.
Alvin Kamara & Jayson Tatum are looking to build generational wealth
Alvin started his NFL journey back in 2017, just like Jayson who also began his NBA stint during the same year. Along with this, both the athletes also took the decision to not spend a single dollar from their salaries, in a bid to gain financial security in the long run.
During an appearance on In Depth With Graham Besinger 6 months ago, Tatum had stated that he had a deal with his mother Brandy Cole that he won’t spend a single dollar he makes by featuring for the Celtics. His aim was to live off all the endorsement deals which helped him rake in the moolah off the field.
Similarly, Saints’ star Running Back Alvin Kamara, during an appearance on “Uninterrupted Kneading Dough” back in 2021, had stated that he understands the value of each dollar as he saw his mother work multiple jobs just to make ends meet in his early days. Which is why, he decided not to spend anything from his NFL salaries and live off all the endorsement deals.
Undoubtedly, both, Jayson’s mother Brandy and Alvin Kamara’s mom Adara, played a major role in guiding their children to the right financial path.
Jayson Tatum & Alvin Kamara are raking in the moolah through endorsement deals
Jayson might not be spending anything from his salaries due to the promise he made to his mother, the truth is, he simply doesn’t need to. This is because the Celtics’ star earns the big bucks by endorsing brands like Gatorade, NBA 2K, Subway, and of course, Jordan. In fact, Jayson’s signature shoe Tatum 1 was also launched a couple of months ago this year.
On the other, Saints RB Alvin Kamara has joined hands with brands like Adidas, Airhead, Chase Twitch, Visa, Champs, and Underdog Fantasy App. Needless to say, both the stars have a very bright future in their respective arenas and without a doubt, their stories will inspire innumerable other athletes to spend their dollars wisely, instead of burning their hard earned money on depreciating assets.
