Mac Jones saw his first NFL game action when the Patriots took on WFT in the preseason. Skip Bayless had a weird take with Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, and Mac Jones after.

Jones was the Patriots first round pick being selected 15th overall in the 2021 NFL draft. With the Patriots in a bit of a flux after Tom Brady left last offseason, they signed Cam Newton as a stop-gap, and potentially a hopeful candidate for a long-term answer at the quarterback position.
However, Newton didn’t impress in his first season with the Pats, but New England still wanted him back as they acnowledged that Covid and a lack of a strong wide receiver group didn’t give him the opporunities he needed to be successful.
They still decided to take Mac Jones, however, just in case the Cam experiment doesn’t work out, and this way, they can think for the future too. Jones played decently enough in his first preseason game, but Skip Bayless still found some way to come after him.
Skip Bayless Says Mac Jones Has Poor Arm Strength That Makes Tom Brady Look Like Patrick Mahomes
Mac Jones made several nice throws, along with some bad ones, during his first NFL preseason game as he helped the Patriots beat WFT 22-13. He had one deep shot that showed off his pinpoint accuracy, but unfortunately the receiver dropped the ball.
Nevertheless, Skip Bayless still came up with this wild take following the game:
Well, Skip, did you take a look at throw Mac Jones made?
Yeah, not only does that prove that Jones has great arm strength, it also shows the kind of accuracy he has, one of his biggest pros during college. Also, sure, Tom Brady may not be Patrick Mahomes when it comes to launching footballs, but he isn’t bad at the deep ball.
Yes, Mahomes undeniably has the better arm than Brady, and he probably has the best arm in all of the NFL, but Brady is no slouch when it comes to throwing the ball. Horrible take all-around by Skip Bayless. While you’re at it, here’s a Patrick Mahomes deep shot you didn’t know you needed to see today:
