Madden 22 Safety Ratings: It’s finally that time of year again: Madden Ratings Reveal Week. Who are the highest rated safeties in this year’s edition of Madden NFL 22?

Although the general attitude towards Madden has trended negatively the past few years, it really looks like EA Sports is trying to change that. When the cover was released a month ago, they announced a flood of new features such as “home field advantage”.
Even with the cover itself, it’s clear that EA tried to do something special. While people will complain about anything with Tom Brady on it, this year is the first time since Madden 10 that the cover features 2 athletes.
This week, EA has started revealing player ratings, via ESPN platforms. They initially released ratings for some of the more popular rookies, and are planning to release ratings by position now, using the following schedule:
- Monday (July 26): Wide receivers
- Tuesday (July 27): Defensive linemen, edge rushers
- Wednesday (July 28): Running backs
- Thursday (July 29): Safeties
- Friday (July 30): Quarterbacks
Obviously, player ratings can, and usually do (for popular players), change over the course of a season. After the initial ratings come out at the beginning of the season, they’re adjusted according to the player’s real-life performance until the Super Bowl is over. Therefore, many of the ratings being released this week are the same as they were at the end of last year.
For the safeties, nobody came close to joining the 99 club, with the highest rated player being Tyrann Mathieu at 95 OVR.
