Poling was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL draft, but has barely seen any playing time since. He spent his first year in the league on the Miami Dolphins practice squad and also featured on the practice squads of the Falcons and Raiders.
The 25 year old finally made his first NFL appearance for the Raiders in 2019 when he registered 5 snaps on special teams in a week 10 game against the Chargers. Despite his lackluster NFL career so far, Poling showed exceptional potential in his 4 years in college. He still holds school records for career solo tackles and career tackles for loss at his Alma Mater, Ohio University.
He will being joining an extremely talented linebacker room in Minnesota. It is highly unlikely that Poling will start for the Vikings given that he will have to beat out players like Anthony Barr, Ben Gedeon, and Eric Kendricks. There is, however, a good chance that he will help out on special teams.
