Patrick Mahomes Posts Three-Word Reaction to Jaguars' New $221,000 Contract Holder QB's Astounding Play that Fractured Cowboys' Defense

Patrick Mahomes has all the attention in the NFL this season since the Chiefs are the defending champions. However, he is never shy of lauding other QBs such as Trevor Lawrence and Kirk Cousins. He recently praised Jaguars’ new $221,000 contract holder QB Nathan Rourke who crippled the Cowboys’ defense in his electrifying touchdown play.

Nathan Rourke gained instant fame with a breathtaking play that resulted in a remarkable touchdown against the Cowboys. Signed by the Jaguars on January 16 this year, the 25-year-old QB had previously played for the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League for two seasons before entering the NFL. In his NFL debut, he received praise from one of the league’s best quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes.

Patrick Mahomes Is Impressed By Jaguars’ New QB Nathan Rourke

The former Ohio player who now plays as a third-string QB for the Jaguars, introduced himself as a resilient thrower with his Mahomes-like throw in his debut. It was the fourth quarter when Rourke faced another snap but he was not going down despite two Dallas pass-rushers, Durrell Johnson and Quinton Bohanna, charging at him and almost bringing him down.

Before Nathan hit the ground, he made a shotgun of a throw, with the bullet-speed ball landing right into the hands of Qadree Ollison for a remarkable 21-yard touchdown. With that play, Rourke took the game farther away from the reach of the Cowboys as the Jaguars downed the America’s team by 28-16.

The throw was so mesmerizing that even Patrick Mahomes had to make sure to leave a comment behind lauding the NFL rookie. Mahomes had just three words for him, “That was nasty!!!” followed by two bicep flex emojis. It was certainly one of the most encouraging words that the new QB could seek from the best in the league.

$221,000 Nathan Rourke Is a Steal For the Jacksonville Jaguars

Indeed, Nathan Rourke’s debut game was nothing short of ideal for any quarterback, drawing comparisons to Mahomes for his exceptional throw. Rourke’s performance included 153 passing yards, completing nine out of 17 attempts with one touchdown and no interceptions, contributing to the Jaguars’ 28-23 victory.

With that in mind, it just seems that the Jaguars have had a steal in the form of Nathan Rourke. The franchise signed Rourke for a total of just $221,000 which includes a $5,000 signing bonus and $216,000 in guaranteed money.

Not only were the NFL fans impressed with his play but Rourke’s former BC Lions teammates were also stoked after seeing the 25-year-old throw an absolute dime while falling down. The reaction was shared by the Jaguars’ official Twitter page who were also very proud of their new QB.
