Emily Ratajkowski

It seems the NFL has lost a fan with recent events. Model and author Emily Ratajkowski has Tweeted a second time in as many weeks, which has prompted many to presume her alleged dislike towards the NFL. Formerly a massive NFL enthusiast, Ratajkowski took the time to Tweet an article talking about the NFL’s concussion protocols based on racial differences. Oh, and yes, she did Tweet “F*** the NFL” not long ago.

The article she quoted talks about the NFL’s decision to change its long-standing policy on concussion detection. Which includes different testing procedures for African-American athletes. It assumed black athletes had a lower cognitive function, making the NFL a hotbed for race-led controversies. Especially after the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, the NFL was under too much pressure to revert the policy.

This is not the first time Ratjakowski has lashed out against the NFL. Not long after Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field, she took to Twitter to express her strong anti-NFL feelings. In a Tweet that provided no other context or explanation, she said, “Sorry but…f*** the NFL”, leaving the NFL community in bewildered surprise.

Fans take shots at Emily Ratajkowski after she quotes an age-old article on NFL

Fans of the sport are not happy with Ratjakowski’s attempts at… well, whatever it is she’s trying to do. Without a clue of her intentions, fans are livid at her slinging at their beloved sport. So naturally, some took it upon themselves to respond on behalf of the NFL, and they did not hold back at all.

While Ratjakowski may not have given an apt explanation for her recent rant yet, it is not unnatural for readers to connect it with recent events. Damar Hamlin’s injury shook many fans, analysts, and players to the core. Such a tragic moment that could have gone very wrong very quickly, acted as a wake-up call for many players, as Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow recalls.

Timely CPR from Bill’s athletic trainer Denny Kelllington, and the efforts of doctors and medical staff at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center helped save Hamlin’s life. He is currently admitted to Buffalo General Medical Center, where he is showing good signs of recovery. However, there is no concrete date or timeline for his full recovery, and possibly his return to active football.

Hamlin’s absence may be a massive morale loss for the Bills, but they made sure they still won when they faced the New England Patriots this Sunday. 2 kick return touchdowns, and an impressive performance helped them end the regular season on a winning streak. The Bills Mafia will be hoping their team carries this energy into the playoffs, as they welcome the Miami Dolphins for the wild card round.
