Tyler Kroft Net Worth: How Much Money Has Miami’s Newest Tight End Made in His Career?

The Miami Dolphins announced recently that former 49ers tight end Tyler Kroft will be joining their ranks this season. The 31-year-old veteran has been playing in the NFL for almost eight years and is widely considered a good pick by the Dolphins. However, one question that many fans had when the news broke was, who is Tyler Kroft, and how much is he worth today?

Kroft entered the NFL in 2015 when he was picked 85th overall by the Cincinnati Bengals. He went on to play 4 seasons with them, before signing with the Buffalo Bills in 2019. Two years later, he found himself in New York, playing for the Jets. That stint only lasted a year, though. Which led to him finally signing with the 49ers in 2022.

How much is Tyler Kroft worth?

The details of his contract with the Miami Dolphins are still unknown. However, Kroft has amassed a bit of money throughout his career. The veteran tight end has received almost $17.7 million through salaries and bonuses. Though he hasn’t had a prominent endorsement or advertisement contract, he still has managed to rake up a net worth of almost $5 million.

Naturally, fans will not be expecting his contract with the Dolphins to be the same as what he had before. Given his age and his past performances in recent years, it is far more likely that he will be on a reduced salary. Though this opportunity could potentially give him a chance to write a redemption story of sorts, or at least make a comeback to being a starting member of the roster.

What will the Dolphins do with Kroft?

It seems unlikely that Tyler Kroft will jump onto the scene as a starter from day 1. Given the existing roster, it might seem more probable that Kroft will be used as a veteran backup for potential starters Durham Smythe and Eric Saubert. Though Kroft’s experience gives him an edge over these two, it may just not be enough to guarantee him a spot on the roster.

The Dolphins, though, may just look to him to develop their next generation of tight ends. The team already has 4 other TEs, which means the addition was likely just to fortify the depth chart. However, bringing Kroft in could give the Dolphins some much-needed time to mold rookie Elijah Higgins. What the Dolphins actually plan to do with him, only time will tell.
