Jarred Goff has been continuously taking shots at former Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers after the veteran recently shifted his base to New York. The Lions quarterback had an edge over the Packers last season, winning multiple games without much hassle. As Aaron is no longer available to square off in the NFC North, Goff decided to yet again poke fun at the Jets QB.

The Detroit Lions had an impressive stint last season. One of the prime reasons behind it was their wins against Green Bay and California product, Jared Goff, played a pivotal role in that. However, Goff is now upset because Rodgers won’t be there representing the Bay Area anymore.

Sealing a win against a formidable team is always an achievement, especially if a quarterback of A-Rod’s caliber is on the other side. Goff succeeded in repeating this trend twice in his career and orchestrated a master plan to snatch a playoff ticket last season from Matt LaFleur.
While speaking to the reporters about the upcoming campaign, Goff was asked to comment on the future Hall of Famer’s transition to a new conference. Without a second thought, Jarred ended up taking shots at his counterpart. “I wish him the best in New York, and I’m sure he’ll do a great job there. But, I kind of wish he was still here just so we could beat him twice a year,” Goff joked during the team’s draft party, per MARCA.

The Lions wrapped up their last season with a record of 9-8 and fell short of entering the playoffs. However, Goff and his teammates were happy to secure wins against Green Bay twice in a single season. When they met in November, the Lions slayed the opposition 15-9. They again squared off in Week 18, going 20-16 by the end of the final whistle. This almost diminished Rodgers’ postseason dreams in his last season for the Packers.

Rodgers is all set to lead the Jets in 2023
The four-time MVP had been the poster boy of Green Bay ever since he took over the charge as a starting quarterback in 2008. He was expected to remain for a couple of more years and announce his retirement while playing for the same franchise.
However, Aaron being Aaron, recently created a stir across social media, stating that he wishes to play for a new team in 2023. Soon the Jets arrived as a potential landing spot for the veteran, and they succeeded in executing a trade.
Rodgers was accompanied by wide receivers like Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard on the squad. It turned out to be a complete revamp for the Jets’ offensive unit. Hopefully, they can make a comeback and salvage the ongoing slump with Rodgers at the helm.
