Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal: Lille forward Nicolas Pepe has reacted to speculations linking him with a move to North London.

Arsenal have been in fine form this season. After a shaky start to the season, where they lost both of their opening games to Manchester City and Chelsea, the Gunners picked up pace and are unbeaten since.

Unai Emery’s side is 5th in the league, but only a point behind breaking into top-4 after an impressive 1-1 draw against the high-flying Liverpool last weekend.

The Gunners will now host Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League, as they aim to secure a place in the round-of-32 of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the transfer market, and are linked with Lille forward Nicolas Pepe. The rumors surrounding both the parties circled during the summer transfer window as well, but no move was made by Arsenal.

Pepe, however, has now spoken on the rumors.

Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal:

The Lille forward has been in fine form this season. Nicolas Pepe has been involved in 13 goals in this season so far, which is the second-highest among Europe’s top-five leagues.

Unai Emery is keen on bringing the Lille star to Arsenal, according to TeleFoot.

Pepe, meanwhile, welcomed the rumors linking him with a move to North London.

“A preference between Dortmund, Bayern or Arsenal? They’re all big clubs, I was not aware of these rumours, although it’s nice,” Pepe told Telefoot, reacting to the rumors.

“Leave Lille at the end of the season? We do not even know what I’ll be doing tomorrow!” he added.

RMC Sport claims that Arsenal is not the only one who are eyeing a move for the star forward. Another London side, Chelsea have also shown interest in signing the Lille superstar.

Telefoot reports that Lille has set a 44 million pounds price for the forward.

What next?

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can strike an agreement, or even a pre-agreement, with Lille over the signing of Nicolas Pepe.

The Gunners, meanwhile, will prioritize their Europa League game this week against Sporting Lisbon. The North-London side will then return to Premier League to take on Wolves.
