Ousmane Dembele at Barcelona: Barcelona’s general manager Pep Segura has opened up on Dembele’s situation at the club.

Barcelona are at the top of the La Liga table at the moment. However, they’re only one point ahead of Sevilla after a shock 4-3 defeat to Real Betis last weekend.

Ernesto Valverde’s side has had a shaky start to the season, but found pace after their game against Tottenham Hotspur, where Messi shined in a 4-2 win.

After an arm injury to Messi in the game against Sevilla, many believed that Barcelona would struggle, but Luis Suarez stepped up and inspired Barca to victory in tow tough games against Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

While Barcelona cruised past the Serie A side 2-0, they thumped Real 5-1 in season’s first El Clasico – a result which saw Julen Lopetegui sacked from his post as the manager of Real Madrid.

However, one of the major issues with Barcelona at the moment is Ousmane Dembele’s ill-discipline. Dembele was not included in the squad for the game against Real Betis after he failed to show up in training. Barcelona’s general manager, Pep Segura, has now spoken on his situation.

Ousmane Dembele at Barcelona:

Pep Segura admitted that there have been issues with Dembele, but that the youngster is working at his best to adapt to life at the Catalan club.

“It’s a normal situation for a young player with a lot of talent who has arrived at a club as big as Barca, full of great players,” Segura began, in an interview with ESPN FC.

“He had never experienced that before and there’s an adaptation process that he has to go through.”

Segura stated that Dembele realizes the difficulty in adapting to Barcelona’s playing style.

“He’s really young and he’s never had to get up to adjust to a playing style like ours. We admit he’s finding it difficult. He also recognizes that. What we are doing is working as hard as possible so that he can adapt in the best possible way.”

Segura, however, denied any possibility of selling Ousmane Dembele, insisting that they don’t want to destabilize the structure.

“As of today we have no offers for Dembele and we have no plans to change the structure of the squad.”
