Barcelona angered by Ousmane Dembele
Dembele’s announcement would have come earlier. However much to Barcelona’s chagrin, the French forward did not arrive for his medical on the stated date. Spanish Outlet Marca have reported that the club medics had set an appointment for Saturday morning to perform tests to understand the extent of his injury. However, the 22-year old never showed up. Instead he arrived two days later on Monday morning.

This has caused the club, right through from medical staff to directors and even his own teammates, to be furious with the lack of a reaction from the player. Dembele played the entire 90 minutes on Friday but his discomfort in doing so was visible to all. Barcelona would have expected for more accountability from the player over his own fitness. They are appalled at the players attitude.
By the time Ousmane Dembélé returns from his current injury, he will have missed 263 days and 44 games due to injury during his time at Barcelona.

Dembele committed a similar disciplinary offense last season when he missed training after oversleeping. The reason he stayed up late was because he spent the night playing Fortnite! It was hoped that he had learned his lesson. However, as is evident, he clearly hasn’t. It remains to be seen if the club take any disciplinary action.
