Trainwreckstv confirms a 95/5 percent cut in favor of content creators
will provide a full update in a day or two, but for now, I’ll leak one thing – partnered creator sub split, 95% creator, 5% company
— Trainwreck (@Trainwreckstv) November 28, 2022
Trainwreckstv announced his plans on Twitter surrounding his new unnamed streaming platform. He revealed the revenue split of his platform: 95% to streamers and the platform will take 5%. Now, this could potentially be a blow for Twitch, which has a 50/50 split of revenue with most of its creators.
“Partnered creator sub split, 95% creator, 5% company,” he Tweeted.
As far as Tyler ‘Trainwreck’ Niknam is concerned, he was extremely popular on Twitch before the platform banned the gambling genre. He also revealed that he made over 300 million dollars in sponsorships he got.
Soon after this incident, Nikman started talking about how having a streaming platform of his own would work in favor of the creators and would take only a small cut of the processing fees.
“We will have a bits equivalent & we won’t upcharge the viewer”
fuck it, I’ll leak one more thing – we will have a bits equivalent & we won’t upcharge the viewer, you want to give $100 to your favorite creator, you should be charged ~$100 (you only pay the processing) – no more being charged $130 to get $100

Half an hour after the initial tweet, he tweeted one more time and said:
“F*** it, I’ll leak one more thing – we will have a bits equivalent & we won’t upcharge the viewer, you want to give $100 to your favorite creator, you should be charged ~$100 (you only pay the processing) – no more being charged $130 to get $100”
While many creators in the past have struggled to get partnerships, Niknam says that it will be easier for people to get partnership badges. However, the only thing that will make it different from Twitch, and maybe a bit similar to YouTube is the ads that the platform will have. Replying to a user, Trainwreck replied “full transparency – eventually, yes.”
While the idea was welcomed by many, fans were quick to label it as too good to be true and had their set of doubts.

His company isn’t going to last if he is only taking 5 percent and most creators by the looks of it have just accepted twitches new profit split and are now doing the 5 ads and hour because their audience is on twitch so he can’t compete

Others wondered if the platform would entertain small-time streamers and newcomers.
man being a small streamer this would help out a lot. Twitch Tax so much FRFR

This is looking huge 👀👀. Maybe I would consider starting streaming. How about newcomers’ incentives?

People have shown support and enthusiasm towards the upcoming platform, hoping it would be fruitful for both streamers and viewers.
