Paul Pogba was critical of Manchester United’s performance after the side registered an unconvincing 2-1 win over West Ham.
Manchester United climbed to fifth position in the Premier League after a 2-1 win over West Ham.
However, it was not an easy win for Solskjaer’s men as West Ham were a better team throughout the game. Manchester United’s midfielder Paul Pogba admitted that the side was lucky to get the three points in the game.
Pogba scored both the goals through penalties in the win, with West Ham scoring through Felipe Anderson early in the second half.
Pogba interacted with BT Sport after the game.
Pogba criticises Manchester United performance:
The Manchester United midfielder suggested that tiredness could be the reason after back-to-back games across various competitions.
Manchester United played Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday night and will take on the Catalan giants again on Tuesday next week.
“We didn’t have a good performance, but the result is there,” Pogba said.
“It was really open, we didn’t play well, maybe we played a bit too slow. We focus on the next one. I can’t explain, I really don’t know if we’re tired. We have to rest now and be fit for Tuesday.”
Pogba also admitted that the side was lucky to come out with a win. “The most important is the three points. We had the luck today,” the midfielder said.
The Frenchman scored both the goals in the game through penalty kicks. However, Pogba didn’t score with his traditional long run-up, and was questioned the reason behind parting ways with his run-up.
“Penalty run up? What matters is to put the ball inside that’s all, maybe I tricked the keeper but all that is important is the three points today,” Pogba said.

Only Luka Milivojevic (10) has scored more goals from penalties in the Premier League this season than Paul Pogba (7).
Though Pogba has *probably* taken the most time in taking them. 😉 pic.twitter.com/oCSsYEFyvB
