Paul Pogba: Patrice Evra claims Manchester United star will leave the club after being heavily criticized by fans fr team performances.
Manchester United disappointed their fans after performing miserably this season, whilst finishing sixth in the league, and 32 points behind their city rivals and Premier league champions Manchester City.
This has surely infuriated Manchester United fans and made them criticize their players, while the latter failed to even qualify for the Champions league.
Amidst all of this, Paul Pogba is subject to massive criticism by Manchester United fans, even though the player was one of the saving graces in the Red Devils’ team.
Further, the French International even clashed with a small section of supporters after Sunday’s Premier League defeat to Cardiff City.
Meanwhile, Pogba is linked with a transfer move to Real Madrid and they are ready to pay a colossal amount for him, amid Zinedine Zidane’s squad overhaul plans.
Therefore, Patrice Evra came in defense for his compatriot and quoted, how the 26-year-old midfielder might leave the club this summer.
“I don’t want to blame all the players because I think that some players are here (at United) and they themselves don’t even know why they are here.” Evra told Sky Sports.
“I think (Pogba) will leave, because you need to feel the love when you play somewhere, you need to be committed. If Paul decides to stay another year and then leave, or stay another few years, maybe the fans will love him because he is committed.”
“It’s not like I am protecting Paul but when there are incidents like yesterday with the fan, they are killing Paul.” he further said.
Meanwhile, Pogba also opened about the harsh criticism he received from the fans and responded that he doesn’t give much focus to it.
Lastly, it is yet to see whether Pogba will stay or move to Spain amid Real Madrid’s interest to bolster their squad.
How twitter reacted
Paul Pogba, a central midfielder, has just finished the season being abused by a fan in the Stretfotd End. He’s finished the season as our top goal scorer and our top assister (more assists than Lingard and Rashford combined), but it doesn’t count because he’s not English.
