Paul Pogba to Barcelona might be a possibility in 2019, as the Catalan club is confident of signing their top targets next year.

Paul Pogba has long been speculated with a move to Barcelona this summer. The Frenchman had a fall-out with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho last season and was subsequently benched for the Champions League round-of-16 match against Sevilla.

Pogba, however had a brilliant World Cup, where he was central to France’s success. The midfielder also scored a goal in the final of the World Cup against Croatia. His terrific performance in Russia invited interest from Spanish giants Barcelona, who looked keen to sign him in this transfer window.

According to SKY, Barca made a 45m pounds plus Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes for the French midfielder, which was reportedly rejected by Manchester United. However, Spanish outlet Sport now claims that the Barca board is confident of pulling out a deal for Paul Pogba in 2019.

With Pogba, Barcelona’s hierarchy will also plot moves for Adrien Rabiot and Frenkie de Jong, who were also their top targets in this transfer window.

Sport reports that it is highly unlikely that Barcelona will sign another player in this transfer window, ‘be a miraculous change in the final few hours’ of the transfer window.

According to reports from Spain, Barcelona attempted to sign Adrien Rabiot earlier this week, but PSG not only rejected the bid but threatened Barca to lodge complaint to FIFA over wrongful approach for the player. Rabiot is reportedly interested in signing for Barcelona.

Sport also claims that Pogba is open for a move in January, as a deal looks unlikely at the moment. Manchester United failed to kick-start their campaign on a high as the Old Trafford club has lost two out of three matches this season so far. Paul Pogba has also struggled to perform for United so far.
