Paul Pogba Transfer News: Man Utd take mammoth decision on Paul Pogba's future at Old Trafford

Ed Woodward has reportedly said Paul Pogba that he does not hold even one per cent intention to sell him in the summer window.

Paul Pogba’s future has been hanging on the air for a long time now. The French International has been linked with Real Madrid over the last few months, but the Red Devils have been firm in their decision.

According to the Spanish publication Sport, Ed Woodward has privately told the midfielder that he will not be sold in this window. In the process of rebuilding, Pogba is seen as an anchor by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The midfielder excelled during the early days under the Norwegian and he expects the same in the upcoming season.

Manchester United midfielder still has two years left in his contract and the possibility of heading the exit door in this summer is nil. Juventus and Real Madrid have made a move, but they were put off by the Red Devils asking price.

The price tag is set at £150 million, an exorbitant price – given his current lamentable performances. Pogba is currently earning 280,000 per week at Manchester United and wants a hike in that amount – which has been termed unreasonable by Juventus and Real Madrid.

Ed Woodward and Jose Mourinho forked out £79 million during the summer of 2016, but he has been inconsistent from day one. He is one among the many reasons for the sacking of Jose Mourinho in December 2018.

Recently, Eric Bailly had liked a post which said that Pogba is an anchor in the dressing room and he sets the tone among the squad. This news is particularly not good for Solskjaer, who wants the players to be solely committed to the club.

Manchester United are close to completing the first signing of this window. Swansea City’s Daniel James is currently undergoing medical while on International duty and signing is expected to be wrapped up soon.

Here’s how Twitter has reacted..

What’s next?

Manchester United are expected to spend a huge sum on transfers in this window. Solskjaer is trying to build a bridge between Manchester United and their rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City. He has affirmed that it a long-term project and he would require time to deliver at Old Trafford.
