Pogba stirred a hornet’s nest when he took to Instagram to upload a video of himself and United teammate Victor Lindelof doing sprint drills at his home while wearing a Juventus jersey. Lindelof himself was spotted in Albin Ekdal’s Sampdoria jersey. However, the 27-year old midfielder explained that it was for a good cause.

Pogba captioned the videos:
“Supporting our Juventus and Sampdoria friends @blaisematuidiofficiel and @albinekdal and all athletes and people around the world who are facing this difficult moment!
“Be strong, #StayAtHome and be safe!
“New training camp is called… Quarantine PP Arena, open 24/7!”
“Having fun working at home with my brother @victorlindelof.
“(I know the cheeky ones will talk about the Juventus jersey [but] I’m just supporting my friends … that’s all, nothing more).”
Blaise Matuidi replied to Pogba’s post saying:
“Thank you, my brother, this touched me love u.
“And glad to see you touch the ball.”
Paul Pogba returned to Manchester United in 2016 for a then world record fee of €105 million. The Frenchman caused quite the stir last summer when he spoke of his desire for a ‘new challenge’. He was rumoured to make a move to Real Madrid. However, United managed to keep a hold on him.
Since then however, his contribution to the side has been limited. Injuries have kept him out for a large part of the campaign. The arrival of Bruno Fernandes has led to reports of United looking to offload Pogba and cash in on him before his contract runs out.
