Manchester United defender Phil Jones handles the ball while attempting overhead kick against Kristiansund.
Manchester United are currently playing Norwegian side Kristiansund in Oslo’s Ullevaal Stadium. The game is currently in a stalemate, but there was a hilarious moment during the first half when defender Phil Jones handled the ball in the hopes of connecting the ball sweetly through an overhead kick.
Got to love Phil Jones. Somehow, he managed to handball his own overhead kick here. #mufc pic.twitter.com/r3o6ddhKiJ

In the 10th minute of the game, Phil Jones turned back towards his goal and flung himself in the air. He did make a decent connection until his arm got in the way, deflecting the shot totally.

Jones is always known for his hysterical facial expression off the ball.
In fact, even the man himself gets sent pictures of his own face by his mates in a WhatsApp chat – and he’s learned to just accept it.
“It’s banter, my mates banter me all the time about it,” he told Goal in an interview.
“It is what it is. I’m not too fussed about that either. My mates send me pictures every single night on the Whatsapp group taking the mick out of me. It’s banter, it is what it is. It doesn’t bother me.”

Jones signed a new contract extension earlier this year to keep him at Old Trafford until 2023 and would be in with a shout of having a testimonial game.
However, when asked about the possibility of that happening, Jones responded hilariously.
“I wouldn’t go that far, there’d be only my mum and dad who would turn up,” he said.
