TheSportsRush brings things we learnt from Newcastle United vs Arsenal, as the Gunners cruise to 2-1 victory.

Arsenal won their third successive Premier League match of the season after overcoming Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United side. The Gunners got the three points after winning with a 2-1 margin, courtesy of Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil. The two second half goals were enough to kill the Magpies but the match did talk a lot about the two teams. Here are three things which can be obtained out of it.

Lacazette and Aubameyang do wonders together

Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang started their second match in a row. After dispatching Cardiff City and being on target, the strike force played a huge role in the goals of Xhaka and Ozil. Mkhitaryan’s sacrifice has been a blessing for Arsenal and we might see more of this attacking duo as the season progresses.

Half time changes are vital Arsenal tactics

Unai Emery made a change at half time at the St. James’ Park this evening and it is definitely not the first time that we have seen such a tactic being implemented by the former Paris Saint-Germain coach. The Spaniard’s team took a huge improving step in the second half and this is another thing which is not new. This probably could be a pre-planned thing and does get the better out of the Arsenal players.

Arsenal need to fix defensive woes

With five matches into the Premier League, the Gunners are yet to keep a clean sheet. The defense has been overhauled this summer but the goalkeeping spot is still occupied by Petr Cech despite Bernd Leno’s signing. Unai Emery will have to fix the situation quickly and start to ensure that Arsenal keep the clean sheets on more regular occasions and kill the games off much earlier. Another thing which needs to be addressed is the timing of the goals, which need to come earlier with an equally stable first half performance.
