‘If you’re not happy, you can’t perform at your best,’ Pogba says in cryptic interview
The French midfielder suggested that he would be ‘fined’ for saying some things.
Paul Pogba scored the 2018/19 Premier League’s opening goal. It proved to be vital for United as the Red Devils grabbed an opening day win over Leicester City by a 2-1 score line. Jose Mourinho also allowed the World Cup winner the armband for the match and lead the team.
After the match, the 25 year old stated that he was very happy at the club. He said that his dream of graduating from their academy and playing for senior team was fulfilled. However, on being asked if he feels happy, he stated that he could be fined if he spoke the truth.
“If you’re not happy, you cannot give your best,” Pogba said. “There are things I cannot say otherwise I will get fined.”

Paul Pogba joined Manchester United from Juventus for a record transfer fee of 89 million pounds in 2016. However, he has not lived up to expectations in the Red jersey, but done extremely well on national team level during the same period. He was instrumental in France’s World Cup win and also scored in the 4-2 final rout of Croatia.
Jose Mourinho highly praised Paul Pogba after the World Cup for his displays in the knockout stages. Club legend Rio Ferdinand also highlighted how the France international could be unstoppable playing in an advanced role and that Mourinho had to get the best out of him.
Pogba’s comments are certain to start a fire regarding a potential Manchester United exit. The 25 year old was strongly linked with Barcelona in the near past but a move could not formulate.
