The deal for Rabiot to Barcelona could fall following accusations from PSG regarding a false approach.

Paris Saint-Germain have been recently engaged in a conflict with FC Barcelona over their unofficial attempts to buy Adrian Rabiot. According to reports, the French champions have made an official statement warning the Spanish club.

The Ligue 1 champions have claimed that FCB attempted to influence Rabiot without their permission and have even warned them of filing a complaint against them to FIFA.

As per Sport’s Ivan San Antonio, general manager Pep Segura and technical director Eric Abidal visited the French capital to discuss with the 23-year old regarding their interest in signing him out. The club feels that this meeting behind their back is what has instigated the French prodigy from signing an extension contract at Parc des Princes.

Rabiot who is in the final year of his deal at Paris recently rejected four offers to extend his stay at the club and if he doesn’t do that, Barcelona will get an opportunity to sign him in January, leaving the former’s club with no option whatsoever next season.

As we stroll back through the history pages, the rivarly between these two clubs has increased ever since their encounter in the UEFA Champions League encounter one season back. The Spanish giants overcame a 4-0 first leg deficit to win, 6-5 in Camp Nou. A game that was termed by many as one of the greatest ever comebacks in the history of European football. This left the Parisians devastated but not for long as they would buy out Barca’s chief orchestrator in the classic comeback. Neymar Jr. was bought out from the Nou Camp as the most expensive signing in football history. A whooping 263 million euros.

Rabiot interests have now given a new twist to this epic French-Spanish saga and it would be interesting to see if the world cup winner switches sides depsite of all the efforts that are being done to avoid the same at the Parc des Princes.
