Raikkonen speaks about being the last Ferrari champion
Kimi Raikkonen visited Maranello one last time a couple of nights back, meeting the Ferrari staff and Sebastian Vettel one last time as teammates before bidding an emotional goodbye.
Raikkonen formed a very able and harmonious partnership with Vettel at Ferrari, one that both he and Seb valued a lot.
On his last visit as a Ferrari man to Maranello, Kimi came up with a brilliant post for Vettel, expressing his gratitude and reminding Vettel how good their partnership was.
Kimi also addressed the fact of being the last Ferrari champion and how he wouldn’t want that record to stand for long, as the team throughly deserved to win the title with the amount of work and effort that was being put in the car.
“I don‘t want to be the last Ferrari champion, I hope the title arrives in 12 months. You deserve it.” Raikkonen said.

Ferrari did pose a stiff challenge for Mercedes this time round, putting out a car that was superior in performance and pace for a decent amount of the season.
However, the team wasn’t quite able to take advantage of the superior package, owing to mistakes on part of Vettel and the Ferrari strategists.
Hopefully this season they come up with an even better car and also manage to execute their plans on the track.
