RCB asks Negi, Saini and Khejroliya to pass the Yo-Yo test
Royal Challengers Bangalore will start preparing for the next season of the IPL very soon, as the the Bengaluru franchise will now pencil in their plans ahead of the mega event in a couple of months time.
RCB had a pretty decent auction, as they assembled a much more balanced side as compared to previous years.
The Bangalore outfit had a major decision to make early on in the auction, as they had to decide whether or not to buy back their former hero Chris Gayle. But they decided against it, as RCB finally let go of the West Indian champion.
They made two big acquisitions in the auction, when they bought Kiwi veteran Brendon McCullum and South African wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock for heavy sums.
RCB beefed up their bowling department, as they brought in Umesh Yadav, Pawan Negi, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj and Washington Sundar to form a quality Indian bowling attack.
Royal Challengers Bangalore invested heavily in foreign all-rounders, as bought accomplished stars in Chris Woakes, Colin de Grandhomme and Moeen Ali. With just an Indian wicket-keeper missing in their squad, RCB went back for Parthiv Patel as they bought the experienced star for Rs 1.7 crores.
While this RCB squad has a better balance as compared to previous years, the Bangalore franchise will look to Kohli and De Villiers to take this team to another level.
Now we learn that the RCB outfit will ask three players to take a Yo-Yo test. Pawan Negi, Navdeep Saini and Kulwant Khejroliya need to pass the test before they play for the franchise, as the club have become extremely strict in terms of fitness.
Captain Kohli is the standard bearer in this regard, as the RCB skipper has often made it clear that no player who is not fit enough will be allowed to play in the national. Now it looks like he is bringing that into his franchise as well.
With the likes of Kohli, De Villiers, McCullum, Woakes and de Kock in their side, RCB will be hopeful of finally breaking their duck in the IPL.
Let’s just wait and watch!
