Real Madrid ban Vinicius from media interaction as they want to protect the young star from any kind of media criticism.

Real Madrid signed Vinicius Junior from Brazilian giants Flamengo this summer for a fee of 45 million euros. Now that kind of money is a huge price for someone who is just 18 years old and is yet to prove himself on the big stage on which the Whites usually compete on. However, Florentino Perez has broken the bank for him.

Upon his signing and the hype that was created around him, it felt like the Brazilian forward would immediately be allowed to play with the first team in competitive matches, more so after his explosive displays in pre-season. However, the case is quite the opposite wherein Vinicius has featured only for Castilla- Real’s second fiddle side playing in Spain’s third division.

The 18 year old has scored 3 goals in 2 matches for the Castilla side, but is yet to feature for the senior team in an official match. Vinicius has now been banned by Real Madrid from speaking to the media in a step to be protective towards the young gem in their squad. It is also being said that he will only be featuring in matches that will not involve too much physical contact, though he is consistently training with Madrid’s first team squad.

Hence, the long awaited debut in on official match for Vinicius does not seem to be on the cards anytime soon. Rather, it looks like the 18 year old will have to wait until Real Madrid’s coaching staff finally decides when he should play in a senior fixture upon being well scanned. That might be even next year, or as early as in the Copa del Rey this year.

Real Madrid have gotten off to a good start in the league having won three and drawn one of their first four matches. They start their defence of the UEFA Champions League against Roma and will be hoping to replicate the form that helped them lift the big eared trophy for three seasons running.
