Real Madrid are prepared to revamp their squad and bolster their roster in the forthcoming summer.

Real Madrid are set to revamp their squad in the summer transfer window. The Los Blancos have struggled for results following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo this season. Mariano Diaz was brought in to add more firepower to the front line, but the Spanish International has struggled to stamp his authority in the team.

With Jose Mourinho’s return to Santiago Bernabeu rumours murmuring again, the reliable Spanish publication Sport are reporting that they could sell six players should the Portuguese take care of the club in the future.

The six players include Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio, Karim Benzema, and Luka Modric. When Jose Mourinho was taking care of the Los Blancos, it is reported that the former Chelsea manager fell out with the defensive duo Sergio Ramos and Marcelo. His arrival could see him selling those two in the future.

On the other hand, Luka Modric is 33 years already, and the club wants to sell him as in the forthcoming summer to get gain some amount from the Croatian’s transfer. His contract also ends by 2020 which is highly likely to see the former Tottenham Hotspur move to another club. Inter Milan were keen last summer, but due to some complications, the deal never went through.

Karim Benzema has never scored 35 goals in a season for Real Madrid. Whereas, Cristiano Ronaldo has never scored less than 50 in a season since 2010. It is a huge contrast and a gamble by trusting on the forwards who are at stake right now rather than investing in the raw players who could get better as the time goes on.

Gareth Bale has struggled for fitness since his arrival at Santiago Bernabeu. The Welsh International has been carrying Real Madrid this season but has not been able to replicate what Ronaldo does week in week out. He has another three years contract, and the Los Blancos could recoup the same amount they paid for him in 2013.

Marco Asensio was termed to be the next big thing coming through the Real Madrid academy. But, he has struggled for the game time which in turn has affected his club. There is no question about the quality available from the Spaniard, but he has never been able to find his consistency. The Los Blancos are looking for tailor-made players rather than youth players who find it hard to compete and rack up numbers in the final third.

Jesus Vallejo and Mariano Diaz are another two players who want the change of scene. They have not had proper game time this season and could be heading the exit door if the same thing happens.

Club president Florentino Perez is worried about the current crop of players who are struggling without the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo and has already started to look for replacements. Eden Hazard and Mauro Icardi are touted to be the targets for the Los Blancos, but it could change if they decide to appoint Jose Mourinho.
