Real Madrid Transfer News: Record Champions League holders confirm Luka Jovic signing

Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Serbian International Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt. He will be the second signing of the summer transfer window after Eder Militao.

The 21-year-old has signed a 6-year-deal with the club, thereby staying in long-term plans. The transfer fee is set to be €60 million and the striker will earn €8.7 million a year.

In a statement released by Real Madrid, it read: ”

“Real Madrid C. F. and Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed to the transfer of player Luka Jović, awaiting the medical examination. The player remains linked to the club during the next six seasons, until June 30, 2025.”

The striker spent two years on loan at Germany away from Benfica. The Bundesliga outfit triggered the €8.6 million clause which saw him move permanently to Frankfurt. However, they will now recoup seven times the amount they paid to Benfica earlier.

The former Benfica striker scored 27 goals in all competitions last season, including 10 in the Europa League, taking his side to the Semifinals of the tournament. He famously scored five goals in a single campaign last campaign and earned plenty of rewards for that fantastic work.

He was subjected to interest from Barcelona and Chelsea, but Real Madrid have now won the race for his signature. He has a bright future and Zinedine Zidane will be hoping to see him succeed Karim Benzema at Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid are also close to signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea. The Belgian International has waved goodbye to Chelsea following the Europa League triumph. Christian Eriksen and Paul Pogba are the other two midfielders to be linked with the club.
