Arsenal has reportedly made a €8m bid with added bonuses for the 19-year old midfielder.

Arsenal have been quite active in the transfer market, with three signings already made this summer. The Gunners have completed the transfers of Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos. Besides, Arsenal are also close to complete a move for Uruguayan star Lucas Torreira, who is reportedly set to have a medical with the club.

According to Sky, Arsenal are now in talks with French club Lorient to sign Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient. The news comes as a surprise as Arsenal haven’t been linked with the midfielder in the past.

Guendouzi, however, is not new to transfer speculation with Premier League clubs. In January, the 19-year old midfielder has been linked strongly with a move to Arsenal’s derby rivals Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Manchester City.

The French youngster joined Lorient in 2016 and has since played 26 league games for the club. He currently plays for the French U20 side.

It is also being reported that Guendouzi is set for a medical with the club, however the source to this is unconfirmed –

It is reported that the French youngster is set to have his medical on Monday.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery has begun the training session at Arsenal this week, and is keen on wrapping up the deals to prepare for the new season. The North London club will have a blockbuster start to their Premier League season, as they face the defending champions Manchester City.
