Rey Mysterio: Newly Crowned United States Champion reportedly injured | WWE News
Rey Mysterio: Newly Crowned United States Champion reportedly injured during the post-match beatdown at the hands of Samoa Joe at Money in the Bank.
Rey Mysterio defeated Samoa Joe in a disappointing match that didn’t last very long. It seems that the referee was ordered to end the match as soon as possible once Samoa Joe was busted open. The submission machine was apparently not happy with the decision.

The Post Match Beatdown however went as planned. Samoa thrashed the new champion in front of his son Dominic. That was when the United States Champion reportedly suffered the injury.

Bryan Alvarez on The Bryan & Vinny Show said that Rey Mysterio was banged up after that match.
He continued: “He was icing himself down, he may have separated his shoulder, I don’t know. I’ll get an update tomorrow, but he definitely has a shoulder injury.”
According to Alvarez, the injury happened during the beatdown but there is no word on on how severe the injury is or how much time, if any, Mysterio could miss.
