Rich energy CEO slams company critics: The sponsor of Haas F1 team sounded unhappy with the ongoing severe criticism.

Rich Energy’s title sponsorship deal with F1 team Haas has been under the scanner since it was made public in October. People have constantly found faults with Rich Energy, a British energy drink company, over its credibility regarding sponsoring an F1 team.

The continual criticism on Haas F1 sponsor has propelled its CEO William Storey to respond back to the critics saying that “the detractors are obviously not on the same planet as you and me”.

Being asked about the rare sightings of its products, Storey didn’t shy away from saying that all the reports are ‘nonsense’ and should be ignored. “I think a lot of people have put two and two together and got five. I’ve heard these nonsense rumours, whatever, and it’s just completely risible. I just ignore it,” Storey was quoted as saying.

Referring to the exact number of cans which his company has produced, Storey put all the claims as ‘fantasy’. “Ultimately we’ve just produced 90 million cans. As far as I’m concerned anyone who says it doesn’t exist it’s like saying man never walked on the moon, or Elvis is still alive. It’s just fantasy,” he added.

Having earlier mentioned that his company is backed by ‘four sterling billionaires’, Storey wants Rich Energy to be pitched directly against Red Bull, world’s best-selling energy drink. “Actions speak louder than words. At the end of the day when the tide goes out we see who is swimming naked, don’t we?,” he further added.

Before concluding, Storey asserted that he was consistent from day one. Taking a dig at the detractors, he said that they have neither met him nor are in possession of the facts.

“Ultimately, I was very consistent from day one. Everything I’ve said has been the case. It’s interesting that all these so-called detractors have never met me and actually don’t know us at all.

“It’s speculation based on no information. Everyone who actually knew us and knew what was going on knew what we were about. All our detractors were not in possession of the facts,” Storey mentioned.

Having approached a couple of other F1 teams before signing with Haas, Storey claimed the current deal to be the best one.

“This was the best deal we felt was available with any team. We’re delighted with Haas as a team. We think we’ve got a better product and brand than Red Bull and it’s fantastic to be able to compete with them on and off track,” he concluded.
