The 7.8 magnitude earthquake impacted a lot of people in Turkey including Luie. Luie was one of the victims of the earthquake who died under the rubble of the event. To pay tribute to her life and her gaming career, Riot made a player title card in her honor. The Title Card is free in the new battle pass and takes inspiration from her real name, Gizem.

The Title Card ‘Gizem’ unlocks at Tier 5 for free. Jo Ellen Aragon who is a community manager for Riot Games revealed that they made a title card especially for Luie to pay tribute to her life. “A very special tribute in memory of Gizem “Luie” Harmankaya in the new Battle Pass.” Luie passed away after when the earthquakes hit Turkey on February 6th, 2023. The authorities confirmed her passing on 8th February.
The earthquake was a whopping 7.8 magnitude and her friends informed people that the authorities neglected her. Gizem competed in the professional Valorant scene under the team Galakticos, Unknownpros, and Vivace Vista. Luie will be the first player ever in the history of Valorant to be put on a title card. A lot of Valorant EMEA pros and coaches paid tribute to her after the news of her passing.
Player Titles are usually funny, memey, or make a statement. However, with Gizem’s name on one, it will reflect a tragedy in the world of Valorant and how we lost a beautiful soul in a monstrous calamity. Players can equip the player card and raise awareness about her death to pay tribute to her memory. Her name will live on through this Player Title Card in the game.
