Indian opening batsman and Captain of the Mumbai Indians franchise in the IPL, Rohit Sharma has lauded the efforts of KL Rahul (101*) and Kuldeep Yadav (five wicket haul) after 1st T20I win against England.

Scoring runs is one thing but scoring them in the manner in which KL Rahul is scoring those runs these days is something extraordinary. KL Rahul is certainly in a league of his own as far as the T20 matches are concerned.

He is scoring consistently and in his own style without playing a single rash shot. Rahul has been able to maintain his strike rate and impress the entire cricketing fraternity.

Interestingly, Rahul’s destructive form can be peril for Rohit Sharma as the competition in the current Indian team and very tough and there are at least two players fighting for each spot.

However, giving an example of utmost sportsmanship, Rohit Sharma dished out a tweet for KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav after Indian won the 1st T20I against England comprehensively.

Even Captain Virat Kohli was all praise for Rahul after his century. Kohli said, “Rahul has come a long way; especially the way he’s been batting since the IPL and in that one game in Ireland – so clean and crisp. We want guys like him to step up. We don’t want to be one-dimensional, we want people going up and down the order.

“He’s got a great technique, great temperament and is very hungry and today he was a bit emotional because the last century he scored was against England in Chennai and it’s been that long he’s been waiting for. It was a great century and a great sign for Indian cricket.”

Rahul was himself pleased with the knock and took to twitter to express his joy.
