AB de Villiers on MS Dhoni

AB de Villiers on MS Dhoni: In a recent interview, former South African captain was wax lyrical about Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

AB de Villiers, former South African captain and an absolute legend of a cricketer, recently reaped praises about former India captain and current wicket-keeper batsman in Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

In the midst of a lean patch with the bat, Dhoni has allured severe criticism from former cricketers and fans in India. Numbers are evidence to the fact that the year 2018 has been worst for Dhoni in ODIs.

That being said, he has received support from numerous corners regarding his batting form. As far as his place in the ODI side is concerned, chief selectors MSK Prasad had earlier announced that Dhoni is their No. 1 wicket-keeper, at least till the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

In a recent interview with The Quint, de Villiers was of the opinion that Dhoni will always be a part of his team. de Villiers also ended up praising Dhoni for his fantastic record in international level.

“You guys are funny. No, I would play MS Dhoni in my team every day of every year. He can be 80 (years old), I ensure he will play for my team. He is fantastic I mean look at his record. You want to drop a guy like that? You can go ahead by all means. I wouldn’t,” de Villiers was quoted as saying about the 37-year old Indian wicket-keeper.

Dhoni is currently part of the Indian squad which is taking on Windies. Despite his poor form this year, Dhoni is all in likeliness of breaking as many as seven records in this series.
