Romelu Lukaku scores 4 goals in his first match for Inter Milan in their pre-season friendly against Virtus Bergamo as Inter Milan cruise to victory.

Much was made of Romely Lukaku’s ability as a striker in his last season with Manchester United. So much so that he became second choice to a younger Marcus Rashford. The Belgian was clearly unhappy at the demotion and looked for a way out of Manchester United.

The striker desired a move to Inter Milan and made known his wish to play under Antonio Conte. Conte himself was desperate to have the Belgian in his side and pleaded with his board to bring Lukaku in. At one-point Lukaku seemed like he’d find a new home with Juventus at Turin. However, the move didn’t pan out and Lukaku was left in a limbo at Old Trafford.

However, come deadline day and United confirmed that they had come to terms with Inter Milan over the transfer of Romelu Lukaku. Lukaku wished good luck to Manchester United and packed his bags over to the San Siro for his new club.

Lukaku was handed a debut by Conte against Virtus Bergamo and the Belgian didn’t disappoint. He belted 4 goals to kickstart his career at Italy. Sure, Virtus Bergamo isn’t the most exciting of teams out there. However, there are worse ways to start your career at a new club and the Inter Fans will hope he can bring the same form in the Italian league.

Inter had played a match against Valencia last evening. As a result, their team today consisted of mainly those players who were least involved yesterday. Inter Milan won the match 8-0 with contributions from Lukaku (4), Vecino (2) and Esposito (2).
