Romelu Lukaku Transfer: Solskjaer has two targets in mind to replace wantaway Man Utd striker

Romelu Lukaku Transfer: Solskjaer has two targets in mind to replace wantaway Manchester United striker at Old Trafford.

In spite of not being as open about it as Paul Pogba has, Romelu Lukaku has made it very clear that he wants to join Inter Milan. Lukaku was picked up by Jose Mourinho back in 2017. Anotonio Conte, who was the Chelsea manager at the time, had to settle for Alvaro Morata instead.

The Italian, now Inter Milan Manager, wants Romelu Lukaku and is desperate to get his signatures in the ongoing transfer season. Lukaku has also sent his approval at Conte’s direction. The Belgian Striker had earlier said: “It is good that Conte went to Inter, for me he is the best coach in the world.”

He made the comment despite never playing under him.

Lukaku not happy at United

Romelu Lukaku has fallen below Marcus Rashford in the pecking order. He wants to leave because he doesn’t feel important under United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Manchester United are open to Lukaku leaving. However, they are adamant that he will not be sold for anything under £80 million. This has proven to be a stumbling block for the Italian club. Conte does not have the funds to go ahead with the transfer.

Inter Milan have proposed several ways around it. They have offered their players and even suggested taking Lukaku on loan with a premium and a promise to buy. However, United have made it very clear that they will only part with Lukaku if their demand is met.

Solskjaer’s Targets

Despite the stalemate over Lukaku’s transfer, Solksjaer has already begun to look at possible replacements for the Belgium international.

According to the London Evening Standard, Lille forward Nicolas Pepe and Lyon striker Moussa Dembele have both been picked out as possible replacements.

Pepe has attracted attention from Liverpool in recent months after a sensational season in France, while former Fulham and Celtic striker Dembele also enjoyed a great campaign in Ligue 1.

United have already bought Daniel James and Aaron Wan Bissaka in this transfer season. They are also reportedly in the hunt for Harry Maguire, Sean Longstaff and Bruno Fernandes.
