Romelu Lukaku’s diet change is seen as one of the most important factors behind the surge in his goalscoring form.

Manchester United secured an incredible turnaround at Parc des Princes as they entered the quarterfinal of the Champions League.

The side put three past Paris Saint Germain, who looked thoroughly shocked with the turn of events.

The game took a dramatic turn from the very beginning to the final second of the injury time. Romelu Lukaku scored in the second minute to give Manchester United a shock lead in the game.

He gave United the second goal of the match as well, as Marcus Rashford sealed a place in the next round with an injury-time penalty winner.

Lukaku’s recent surge in goalscoring form has been key to Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, as the side faced an injury crisis ever since the first leg against PSG.

Manchester United lost ten of its first-team players last week, including the whole of the first-team attack. Lukaku rose to the occasion, scoring a brace each against Crystal Palace and Southampton last week to secure three points.

In the game against PSG, Lukaku partnered Marcus Rashford and scored a brace again.

It has now been revealed that his change in diet could be the key to his improvement in form.

Romelu Lukaku’s diet change:

According to Daily Mail, Lukaku shifted from a heavy pasta meal in the breakfast to a simpler, omelette meal.

Lukaku has been trying to shed some weight since the beginning of the season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted after his arrival at the club that Romelu Lukaku had bulked up and needs to lose weight.

Clearly, the change in diet had an immensely positive impact on his form, as he has scored a brace in all the three games since.

“We need Rom facing the goal and not with his back to it. He’s been asked to play wide a few times and provide more chances but now he’s more in and around the box,” Solskjaer said on the striker’s goalscoring form.

“We played with two up against PSG — him and Marcus Rashford — and they might form a nice partnership. I wouldn’t like to be a defender with those two running at me.”
