The Rajasthan Royals have not had a memorable season at all. The team has just not clicked and they have repeatedly made the same mistakes over and over again. Occupying the second last position on the points table, the Rajasthan Royals have failed to turn up in this season.
However, one of the few teams they defeated was the Mumbai Indians. A prolific performance at the Wankhede had seen the RR get their 2 nd win of the tournament. They would be expecting a similar performance here in Jaipur when the two teams lock horns again for a thrilling clash.
RR Playing 11 today
Top-order
The top order was shuffled by Rahane in the last match which did not really pay off. Rahane had demoted himself to No. 4 which stemmed the flow of runs in the middle and back-end of the innings.
Ajinkya either needs to drop himself or bat at the top and make use of the powerplay to score some quick runs. The latter is more likely to happen. Jos Buttler, having scored 311 runs, is the bright spot in the RR lineup. He needs to have another good day if the Royals are to have any chances of winning this one.
Sanju Samson will occupy the No. 3 position. Consistency is a term you do not associate with Samson. After a spectacular century, Samson has not taken enough responsibility. He needs to do that today.

Middle-order
Steven Smith is expected to be back in the squad in place of Ashton Turner who was very disappointing. Smith will stabilise and anchor the middle order of the RR innings. Rahul Tripathi might be forced to bat in the middle order again after one innings at the top.
Ben Stokes, if fit, might come back into the team. If he remains unavailable, Stuart Binny, Shreyas Gopal and Jofra Archer would have to take some additional responsibility of finishing the innings with a bang.
Bowlers
Jofra Archer has been a standout performer for RR. He has been exceptional and has picked up 6 wickets in the last 2 matches. He would look to keep his great form with the ball going and pick up a few more crucial wickets. Jaydev Unadkat has been a huge disappointment for the second year running. However, owing to lack of better options, he might maintain his place.
Dhawal Kulkarni has been good only at the top. He has been smashed during the death overs. Hence, it would be wise to use him up during the first 8 overs.
Shreyas Gopal would like to pick up a few wickets. He has gone wicketless for 2 games now. He has been bowling economically though. Ish Sodhi would be in the team as the second spinner and he would look to make a significant contribution.
