RR vs KKR Man of the Match: Kolkata Knight Riders fast bowler was declared the Man of the Match for vs Rajasthan Royals.

During the 21st match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders at Jaipur, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets to register their fourth IPL 2019 victory.

Chasing a 140-run target, Knight Riders got off to a brisk start on the back of 91-run opening stand between Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine. Despite the openers eventually getting out, Knight Riders’ Robin Uthappa (26*) and Shubman Gill (6*) completed the formalities as they sealed the chase in the 14th over.

Having registered his seventh IPL half-century, Lynn top-scored for his team. Before getting out in the 11th over, Lynn scored 50 (32) with the help of six fours and three sixes.

Opening the batting alongside Lynn, Narine was seen dominating the opening partnership. The southpaw scored as many as 22 runs in the second over of the innings being bowled by Royals all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham to give his team a head-start. Before getting out in the ninth over, Narine scored a praiseworthy 47 (26) with the help of six fours and three sixes.

Considering the margin of victories in IPL 2019, KKR have registered the biggest victory after completing the chase with 37 balls to go.

RR vs KKR Man of the Match

After Kolkata captain Dinesh Karthik won the toss and chose to field, his team restricted RR to 139-3 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Coming in to bat at No. 3, RR batsman Steven Smith scored his sixth IPL half-century. Remaining unbeaten till the end, Smith scored 73* (59) with the help of seven fours and a six.

With bowling figures of 4-0-25-2, debutant Harry Gurney was the visitors’ highest wicket-taker. Gurney’s scapls included RR batsmen Jos Buttler (37) and Rahul Tripathi (6).

The 32-year old English cricketer was declared the “Man of the Match” for his exceptional spell.
