Amidst all of this, Liverpool opened the scoring at Anfield in the sixth minute after Divock Origi hit the back of the net courtesy of a stunning assist from Mane.

Mane carried the ball then slid a pin-point pass to the Belgium striker who rounded Jordan Pickford before scoring in an empty net. His pass to Origi was certainly a talking point as the bent of the ball made Everton’s defence look clueless.
