Former West Indies captain and current all-rounder Jason Holder leading Barbados Tridents to a title victory in the recently concluded Caribbean Premier League was a perfect way to respond after being sacked as the national captain.

Having dismissed 14 batsmen in 13 matches at an average of 25.71, an economy rate of 7.34 and a strike rate of 21, Holder finished the season as its third-highest wicket-taker.

A capable batsman down the order, Holder is the idle senior players who can contribute across departments in a T20 franchise. As far as the IPL is concerned the 27-year old cricketer has represented Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and SunRisers Hyderabad in the past.

Holder is not a spinning-all-rounder like Shakib but his presence as a pace-bowling all-rounder has it in it to aid Sunrisers’ prospects.
