IPL 2018 Fantasy Guide: Fantasy Tips for KXIP vs KKR

We are into the final 12 games of the season and 6 teams are still vouching for those final 3 playoff spots.

SRH have qualified for the playoffs and will most likely end as table toppers. KXIP and KKR find themselves in the mid-table rut, but Kings XI are a bit better off at this stage as they have 2 more points than KKR and have a game in hand.

KKR have lost their mojo mid way through the tournament. Their overseas stars seem injured, as Russell and Lynn aren’t match fit at the moment, but have to take the field because of lack of options in the KKR camp.

Sunil Narine’s tryst with those quick starts at the top of the order has almost come to an end now. Bowlers have found him out and Narine is struggling to get those short balls directed to his body away.

KXIP have unearthed KL Rahul’s talent to the fullest as Rahul has been leading the batting unit from the front.

The middle order looks a bit shaky though and somehow if they can rectify that, KXIP will become a force to reckon with.

Now, I already have Sunil Narine, Prasidh Krishna, Chris Gayle and KL Rahul in my side for this game.

Andrew Tye, Mujeeb ur Rehman and Andre Russell are in my consideration set for this game.

Tye has been a revelation for Kings XI at the death and he seems like the safest bet for this game, but provided that KXIP bowl first.

In a toss-up between Tye and Mujeeb, I would get in Tye if KXIP bowl first and Mujeeb if KXIP bowl second.

Now, Andre Russell has been struggling with his hamstring all through the IPL, something that is visible from the way he conducts himself on the field.

At this stage of the tournament, I wouldn’t want to risk a transfer on him, as he might again be forced to take the field despite not being fully fit.

Chris Lynn hasn’t looked his usual self in the IPL, and that is primarily because bowlers have been taking the pace off the ball, instead of dishing out ‘normal pacy’ deliveries to the Australian.

He has found it difficult in the middle and thus it doesn’t make a lot of sense to get him in today, as Ashwin will use his spin trio to get the better off Lynn tonight.

For the uncapped player, I get in Nitish Rana. Rana’s form has tapered off in the last few games but he is still a good enough fantasy option as he could be called upon to bowl and is certain to bat in the top 4.

Now, I already have Karun Nair, Sunil Narine and Andrew Tye in my side for this game.

KL Rahul would be the first player that I get into my side for this game and I don’t think I really need to justify his selection. His actions on the field have spoken for themselves.

Chris Gayle needs to be brought into the XI considering the lat surface at Indore and the ‘law of averages’, as he hasn’t fired in the last two games and is due for a big score.

If you want to get in another bowler for this game, Mujeeb seems like a good bet, but I would do so only if KXIP bowl second.
