Despite its relative newness, Day Night tests have now been a thing in cricket for a few years already. However, India remained hesitant to take to the match type before Sourav Ganguly finally introduced it to Indian Fans.
Fans flocked to the Eden Gardens to witness history being made and the Indian Cricket team made sure that the fans would leave with their money’s worth as they made quick work out of the visiting Bangladesh side.
The Indian quicks bundled Bangladesh for 106 in the first Innings. Virat Kohli took over. His century help India post a 241-run lead. In response, the visitors fared slightly better but couldn’t stop India from romping to yet another innings victory.
2 days and 8 overs were all it took for India to win their first ever Day night test match and this has caught the attention of legendary leg spinner Shane Warne, who wants India to face Australia in a Day Night test when they face each other next year.
